#intentionalliving
Hello, happy new month!!
I just watched this video that reminded me of something I have been learning about recently. The video was posted by @blackwall.st on Instagram, and it talked about consumption, and not food but words and vision.
You see, everyday you consume information from the news, tv, radio, social media good or bad, it’s registered in our minds. The problem is, when you listen and watch negative things you are training your subconscious mind to think and act like that.
I decided to go to scriptures to find out the Bible says, I found so many scriptures talking about choosing wisely who you listen to, who you keep as company 1corinthians 10:31, Mark 4:24, Hebrews 5:14, Ephesians 4:29Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
Which brings me to the point of intentional living, which is defined, Intentional living is any lifestyle based on an individual or group’s conscious attempts to live according to their values and beliefs. Choose what , who listen to, what you read.
Ask yourself is this really relevant to me, why is it relevant, how does it impact my spiritual and physical mind. I know sometimes we do things just for the sake of it, which isn’t a bad thing but if you constantly feed your mind with irrelevant information it’s eventually going to conform to what it’s feed.
One of my good friends posted something interesting recently, ‘keep breathing and believing, don’t let the world and it’s troubles overwhelm you’, this was a reminder to me of what is truly important to me, the stress of the world should over cloud that.
I know we live in a fallen world, but we also have God in this very world. You have to choose to see the good in the world, not just the ugly, be intentional about it, find the right things to influence your life.
Love,
Emilie
